The Devil Wears Prada announces further lead casting

The West End production of The Devil Wears Prada has announced further casting plans alongside Teri Hatcher.

Based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel and the 2006 film adaptation, the plot follows aspiring journalist Andy as she navigates working under fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly. The stage version is produced by Kevin McCollum, David Furnish, and Jamie Wilson, in partnership with Theatre Royal Plymouth and by arrangement with Buena Vista Theatrical.

Since opening at the venue in December 2024 following an initial season at Theatre Royal Plymouth, the show has sold over 1.2 million tickets, becoming the fastest-selling production in the Dominion Theatre’s history. It is set to reach its 800th performance on 23 September 2026. The original cast recording was released last year, featuring unused demo tracks by composer Elton John. Matt Henry, who plays the role of Nigel, will remain with the cast until February 2027.

It’s been revealed today on the Prada social channels that Taila Halford will be continuing as Emily, while taking over as Andy Sachs will be Jenna Bonner. The show has not confirmed when the new cast will take over.

The musical features music by John, lyrics by Shaina Taub and Mark Sonnenblick, a book by Kate Wetherhead, and direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell. The creative team also includes set designer Tim Hatley, costume designer Gregg Barnes, lighting designer Bruno Poet, sound designer Gareth Owen, and casting director Jill Green.
