Moira Buffini's comedy Handbagged will set off on a UK tour later this year, opening at Canterbury's Marlowe Theatre in September.

Handbagged is Buffini's take on the relationship between the Queen and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, based on her short play from Women, Power & Politics.

It originally ran at the Tricycle Theatre in 2013, before transferring to the West End. Casting for the tour is to be confirmed.

Directed by Indhu Rubasingham, the tour opens at the Marlowe Theatre from 9 to 12 September 2015, before visiting the Lowry, Salford (15-19 September), Theatre Royal Bath (21-26 September), Oxford Playhouse (28 September to 3 October), Belgrade Coventry (7-10 October), Theatre Royal Nottingham (19-24 October), Theatre Royal Newcastle (26-31 October), King's Theatre Edinburgh (2-7 November), Theatre Roya Norwich (10-14 November), Cheltenham Everyman (16-21 November) and Richmond Theatre (23-28 November).
