Star Wars actor Khan Bonfils dies during play rehearsal

The actor was due to be appearing in Dante’s ”Inferno” at the Rag Factory later this week

Actor Khan (also known as Kan) Bonfils has died during rehearsals for an upcoming production of Dante's Inferno in London.

Bonfils collapsed on Monday and was unable to be resuscitated by paramedics at the scene, the cause of death is currently unknown.

Chris Hislop, spokesperson from Craft Theatre, said: "The entire company are in shock. There is absolutely severe sadness, it is a real tragedy."

Kan Bonfils had numerous stage credits including Miss Saigon and The King & I, and he also appeared in Star Wars as Jedi master Saesee Tiin and in James Bond films Skyfall and Tomorrow Never Dies.

The production is expected to go ahead, with Hislop saying: "If things go to plan and if the incoming actor is able to do the job we are hoping to open on Saturday''.
