Last night (15 April 2013) we took 200 Whatsonstage.com theatregoers to see the West End transfer of the Tony Award-winning musical Once.

The show, adapted from the Oscar-winning film of the same name, is a celebration of love, friendship and music. When an Irish busker and a young Czech mother meet through a shared love of music, their songwriting sparks a deep connection and a tender, longing romance that neither of them could have expected.

Declan Bennett and Zrinka Cvitešiæ lead the cast in John Tiffany‘s production.

Once has book by award-winning Irish playwright and screenwriter Enda Walsh (Disco Pigs, Misterman, The Walworth Farce). Based on the 2007 motion picture written and directed by John Carney, music and lyrics are by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová who won the Oscar for Best Original Song for “Falling Slowly”.

Following the performance at the Phoenix Theatre there was a Q&A with cast members, including Declan Bennett and Zrinka Cvitešiæ.

To listen to the Q&A, which was hosted by Theo Bosanquet, click the ‘play’ button below; or to subscribe and download from itunes, click here.

As always, please feel free to email your comments and thoughts about the show, as well as any of your favourite insights from last night to feedback@whatsonstage.com and don’t forget to tweet using #wosouting! We would love to hear from you.
