Patricia Routledge will join the special one-off Carousel concert at Cadogan Hall starring Joanna Riding and Janie Dee.

Routledge, who has won an Olivier Award for Candide and a Tony Award for Darling of the Day, previously starred alongside Riding and Dee in the 1992 National Theatre production of the show. She will take on the role of the Narrator in the Cadogan concert, which runs on 19 May at 6.30pm.

Also cast in the piece are Hadley Fraser as Billy Bigelow, Gavin Spokes as Enoch Snow, Chizzy Akudolu as Mrs Mullin, Stewart Clarke as Jigger and Lucy Schaufer as Nettie Fowler. The GSA singers from the Guildford School of Acting will also support the cast.

The 1945 musical, Rodgers and Hammerstein's second, follows carousel barker Bigelow who has a budding romance with millworker Jordan. It features numbers including "You'll Never Walk Alone", "Mr Snow", "June Is Bustin' Out All Over" and "If I Loved You".

The one-off concert will feature a 31-piece orchestra conducted by Alex Parker playing Don Walker's complete original orchestration. A final piece of casting is to be revealed.
