The show opened at the Old Vic
Stephen Beresford's adaptation of Ingmar Bergman's classic film Fanny and Alexander had its opening night at the Old Vic in central London, and the show's cast was joined by a number of big names to mark the occasion.
Guests on the evening included Andrew Scott, Nigella Lawson, Adrian Lester, Jade Anouka and Timothy West.
The piece, which follows a family's decline over time, stars Penelope Wilton, Jonathan Slinger and Lolita Chakrabarti. Directed by Max Webster, critic Sarah Crompton described the piece as a "truly effective slice of theatre".
Fanny and Alexander runs at the Old Vic until 14 April.
