Yasmina Reza's comedy Art is to embark on a UK and Ireland tour from next year.

Nigel Havers, Denis Lawson and Stephen Tompkinson will all star as Serge, Marc and Ivan in the production, which kicks off at Cambridge Arts Theatre in February.

Produced by David Pugh and Dafydd Rogers, the piece will be based on Matthew Warchus' Old Vic production which ran in December last year with Tim Key, Rufus Sewell and Paul Ritter in the cast. This production will be directed by Ellie Jones, with design from Mark Thompson.

The play first premiered in the UK in the West End in 1996, a run which was also produced by Pugh and Rogers. The plot revolves around three friends, one of whom buys a very expensive painting which is entirely white.

Venues on the tour include Plymouth Theatre Royal, Newcastle Theatre Royal, Belfast Grand Opera House, Dublin Gaiety Theatre, Salford Lowry Theatre, Leeds Grand Theatre and Wales Millenium Theatre.

Art opens at Cambridge Arts Centre from 14 to 24 February and then tours the UK.
