The full cast for the revival of Harold Pinter’s play has been announced
Further cast has been announced for the revival production of The Birthday Party, starring Toby Jones, Zoe Wanamaker, Stephen Mangan and Pearl Mackie.
Joining the already announced cast is Peter Wight as Petey Boles and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor as McCann.
The show is being revived 60 years since the play's original debut and will be directed by Ian Rickson. It is set in a sleepy seaside boarding house, where Stanley Webber (Jones) is the only lodger. When two strangers – Mangan and Vaughan-Lawlor – arrive a seemingly innocent birthday party becomes a disturbing nightmare.
Wight's previous credits include Hamlet (Almeida/West End), The Red Lion, Ivanov and Waiting for Godot at the National Theatre. Vaughan-Lawlor has starred in The Plough and the Stars and Juno and the Paycock at the National Theatre.
The Birthday Party runs from 9 January to 14 April 2018, with an opening night on 18 January.
