Marcus Collins drops out of Joseph tour

The ”X Factor” star was supposed to be playing the Narrator but “did not show up for rehearsals”

Marcus Collins has pulled out of the UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, in which he was supposed to be taking over as Narrator from last night.

According to producers Bill Kenwright Ltd, no reason has been given by Collins or his management for the departure.

The former X Factor star, who has appeared in shows including Hairspray, was contracted to appear in the show until 6 June but "did not show up for rehearsals and then subsequently withdrew altogether. Without ever performing".

The tour features another X Factor contestant, Lloyd Daniels, in the title role and sees Matt Lapinskas as Pharoah in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, which is running this week at Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre.

Collins has generated rumours that he wants to star in the upcoming West End transfer of Kinky Boots, which is holding auditions in London this week. He posted a cryptic picture earlier today on social media, which has subsequently been deleted, and has also tweeted about his love of Jerry Mitchell's production.
