Madagascar musical UK tour announced

Madagascar the Musical, based on the animated Dreamworks classic, will tour the UK from July 2018.
Directed by Kirk Jameson, the show revolves around a group of animals, Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, and Gloria the Hippo at a central New York zoo. Dissatisfied with their lives in the city, they are then shipped unexpectedly to Madagascar. The family-friendly show will add new musical numbers to the existing story.
The piece will have book by Kevin Del Aguila and original music and lyrics by George Noriega and Joe Someillan.
Opening in Wimbledon, the show will then tour to Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester, Sunderland, Bridlington and Bristol. More dates for the tour and casting will be announced in due course.
Madagascar the Musical will begin its tour in Wimbledon (16 to 28 July) before travelling to Birmingham (30 July to 4 August), Glasgow (6 to 12 August), Manchester (13 to 18 August), Sunderland (27 August to 1 September), Bridlington (17 to 22 September) and Bristol (8 to 13 October).
