Lyceum Theatre Announces New Season
As they look forward to an exciting 2014, Sheffield Theatres are fresh from receiving four prestigious awards at the UK Theatre Awards earlier this month. Honoured in the categories of Best New Play, Best Supporting Performance, Best Musical Production and Best Touring Production, the Theatres are going from strength to strength.

Building on their past successes, seven productions – some old favourites and some new to Sheffield – are set to wow Lyceum audiences in 2014; from musicals and comedy to ballet, this diverse programme offers something for everyone.
Jukebox musical Dreamboats and Petticoats is set to twist again in Sheffield from Tuesday 14 – 18 January. Set in 1961, the production takes the audience on a musical whistle-stop tour of the 1960's, featuring hits from Roy Orbison and The Shadows among others.
Comedy fans will be thrilled to hear that funny man Stewart Lee is returning to Sheffield following the sell-out tour of Carpet Remnant World. His new production, Much A-Stew About Nothingis at the Crucible on 31 January and 1 February.
Families will love children's classic Tom's Midnight Gardenfrom 4 – 8 February before sing-along favourite Seven Brides for Seven Brothers hits the Lyceum stage from 10 – 15 February.
The Lyceum will be rockin' and rollin' all week long with the musical premiere of Happy Days from 17 – 24 February. With an all-star-cast featuring Cheryl Baker and former Sugababe Heidi Range, the musical is an adaptation of the hit TV series set in the 1950's and ‘60's in America. For more singing and dancing in the aisles, Grease is the word from 11 – 15 March, produced by Sheffield's very own Croft House Theatre Company.
After a successful debut at the Lyceum theatre in 2011, Northern Ballet's ''Cleopatra'' makes a return from 25 – 29 March. Telling the story of the Egyptian Queen, this iconic production features music from Les Misérables composer Claude-Michel Schönberg.
