The production will take place in the grand Chamber at London County Hall
A brand new production of Agatha Christie's Witness for the Prosecution will take place in the Chamber at London County Hall later this year.
Directed by Lucy Bailey (Titus Andronicus), the piece will take place in a courtroom setting and has designs by William Dudley, lighting by Chris Davey and sound by Mic Pool.
Witness for the Prosecution sees Leonard Vole accused of murdering a widow to inherit her wealth. In her autobiography, Christie said the play was "one of my plays that I like best myself."
Christie’s great grandson, James Prichard said: "It is really exciting to see this innovative approach to one of my great grandmother’s best plays. The amazing setting of County Hall will help raise the production to great heights, and with Lucy Bailey directing it will be a must-see theatre event."
It marks the first major production of a Christie play to open in London since the 1960s.
Witness for the Prosecution runs at County Hall from 23 October to 11 March, with previews from 6 October.
