The tour opens at the end of March in Richmond
Lucas Rush will join Hayley Tamaddon in the cast of the new UK tour of Thoroughly Modern Millie, which returns following a tour last spring.
Rush returns to the role of Mrs Meers, which he also played during the show's previous tour last year. His other credits include St Jimmy in American Idiot (receiving a WhatsOnStage Award nomination for the role), Cabaret and Sonnet Walks.
Tamaddon, known for her roles in Emmerdale, Coronation Street and for winning Dancing on Ice, will take on the titular role of Millie Dilmount, a Kansas girl who travels to New York to make it big in the Jazz Age of the '20s.
The cast is completed by Michael Colbourne (Jimmy Smith), Richard Meek (Trevor Graydon), Nicola Blackman (Muzzy van Hossmere), Lisa Bridge (Miss Dorothy), Guy Salim (Ching Ho), Patrick Jeremy (Bun Foo), Natalie Spriggs (Miss Flannery), Laura Ellis, Annie Guy, Emma Lloyd, Millie O’Connell, Patrick George, Scott Norton and Tom Summers.
The musical is based on the 1967 Academy Award-winning film of the same name. When it first debuted on Broadway in 2002, it won six Tony Awards including Best Musical. It features hit songs including "Gimme Gimme" and "Not for the Life of Me".
Thoroughly Modern Millie begins its UK tour at Richmond Theatre on 28 March before visiting Eastbourne, Sunderland, Oxford, Torquay, Poole, Stoke, Bath, Bradford, Darlington, Southend, Wolverhampton, Worthing and Jersey, with further dates to be announced.
