A new circus show is heading to London after a sell-out run at the Sydney Opera House. Blanc de Blanc will open for a month at the London Hippodrome from July.

Created by the team behind Madonna's Rebel Heart tour, the production is inspired by champagne and will take audiences on an immersive journey from giant bubbles and foam, to a champagne spa.

The production comes from Strut and Fret Production House, whose founder Scott Maidment directs the show.

Maidment commented: "With an amazing history of performance, the Hippodrome has a unique atmosphere filled with theatre heritage of a bygone era. This was the obvious place for Blanc's London premiere. Once we had this venue and these amazing performers from around the world, the only thing left to do was shake it up and make it fizz."

It will feature choreography from Kevin Maher who has worked with Justin Bieber and Britney Spears and costumes by James Brown.

Simon Thomas, CEO of the Hippodrome said he welcomed the return of circus to the theatre. The building originally opened as a circus venue in 1900.

"Blanc de Blanc represents a heartfelt ambition I have had since opening the theatre here at The Hippodrome to bring back a new and dynamic circus show. Once again we will be pushing new boundaries in entertainment for London."

Blanc de Blanc will run at the London Hippodrome from 14 July to 28 August.
