The production will reportedly premiere next year in Bath
Lesley Manville has hinted she may be in line to star in an upcoming musical adaptation of Mrs Henderson Presents.
Manville, speaking exclusively to WhatsOnStage in an interview due to be published tomorrow, told Michael Coveney: "I keep in touch with my friend, the composer George Fenton, who's mulling over Mrs Henderson Presents as a musical, so that's a possibility."
Mrs Henderson Presents features music by Fenton and lyrics by Don Black and, according to The Stage, will be directed by Terry Johnson and premiere at the Theatre Royal Bath next year, produced by Michael Harrison.
The 2005 film, which centred on the true story behind the notorious Windmill Theatre in the 1930s, starred Judi Dench, Will Young and the late Bob Hoskins.
It's the latest in a long line of Brit film adaptations, with others including Billy Elliot, Shakespeare in Love and the upcoming Made in Dagenham.
Manville recently won an Olivier Award for her portrayal of Mrs Alving in Ghosts. Her recent film credits include Maleficent and Mr Turner. Look out for our interview tomorrow!
