The Oscar-winning actor could be treading the boards later this year
Oscar-winning actor Jim Broadbent is being lined up to play Scrooge in A Christmas Carol at the Noel Coward Theatre this November, according to Baz Bamigboye of the Daily Mail.
The production, which will follow Photograph 51 starring Nicole Kidman, will be produced by Sonia Friedman productions and directed by Phelim McDermott, co-founder of the Improbable Theatre Company.
Broadbent has an extensive CV, including Award-winning performances in Iris (Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor) and Moulin Rouge (BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role). His last major stage role was ten years ago in Theatre of Blood at the National Theatre, also with McDermott.
