Casting has been announced for the upcoming production of The Selfish Giant, a new folk opera from Guy Chambers.

Jeff Nicholson is to play the Giant. Nicholson's previous credits include Sweeney Todd at the ENO and Urinetown at the Apollo Theatre. Joining him will be Scott Sutcliffe, Jacob Fisher, Olly Dobson, Laila Zaidi, Rose Shalloo and Izuka Hoyle. Natasha Cottriall and Laura Sillett narrate.

Chambers has adapted and composed the piece, which will be directed by Bill Buckhurst. The show is adapted from Oscar Wilde's parable about a giant with a beautiful garden who won't let any children play in it.
