Howard Panter and Rosemary Squire top Stage 100 for the sixth year running

ATG co-founders Howard Panter and Rosemary Squire have topped the annual Stage 100 list, The Stage newspaper's compilation of the 100 most influential people in UK theatre, for the sixth year in a row.

They have now beaten Andrew Lloyd Webber's previously held record of five years on the trot, and they are followed on the list in second place by Cameron Mackintosh and Nicholas Allott of Cameron Mackintosh Ltd and Delfont Mackintosh respectively.

The husband and wife team said of the accolade: "It is enormously exciting news and pays real credit to our wonderful team at ATG who work so hard to make sure that audiences are entertained so brilliantly around the country, and further afield. We are truly honoured to be considered so highly amongst so many exceptional people within the British theatre industry, and are delighted that everyone at ATG’s hard work has been so wonderfully recognised by The Stage."

The rest of the top ten comprises production companies and venues, and one architect firm – Steve Tompkins and Graham Haworth of Haworth Tompkins, who have worked on the redevelopment of Chichester Festival Theatre, the Liverpool Everyman and the National Theatre among others.

Andrew Lloyd Webber and his Really Useful Group take fifth spot this year, with Sonia Friedman of Sonia Friedman Productions and the National Theatre's Nicholas Hytner and Nick Starr at four and five respectively.

Also in the top ten is David Lan and Lucy Woollatt of the Young Vic, Dominic Dromgoole and Neil Constable at Shakespeare's Globe, Jonathan Church and Alan Finch from Chichester Festival Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company's Gregory Doran and Catherine Mellyon.
