WhatsOnStage Award-winner Haydn Gwynne will join Tamsin Greig in the upcoming production of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, according to Baz Bamigboye of the Mail.

Gwynne will reportedly play Lucia in Bartlett Sher's production, which opens at the Playhouse Theatre on 12 January, following previews from 20 December.

She joins the previously announced Tamsin Greig in the show, which revolves around a professional movie dubber who discovers unsavoury secrets about her married lover after he abruptly abandons her.

Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown is adapted from Spanish director Pedro Almodovar's Oscar-nominated 1988 film of the same name.

Haydn Gwnne won a WhatsOnStage Award for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in The Audience opposite Helen Mirren. She is no stranger to musical theatre, having originated the role of Mrs Wilkinson in Billy Elliot, and also starring in City of Angels and Ziegfeld. Other stage credits include Becky Shaw at the Almeida, Richard III at the Old Vic and numerous shows with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown runs at the Playhouse Theatre from 20 December 2014 for a limited 20 week run.
