Goodnight Mister Tom set for West End return

The award-winning Chichester Festival Theatre production of Goodnight Mister Tom is set to return to the West End for a ten week run at the Duke of York's Theatre in December.

David Wood's adaptation was first seen in London in 2012 at the Phoenix Theatre.

Initial casting includes David Troughton as Tom Oakley. Troughton's theatre credits include Macbeth, Season’s Greetings and Peter Pan whilst his TV credits include Grantchester and Unforgotten.

Directed by Angus Jackson, the show is adapted by from Michelle Magorian’s classic 1981 novel of the same name.

Set during the build up to the Second World War, Goodnight Mister Tom follows William Beech as he is evacuated to the English countryside and meets elderly recluse Mr Tom.

Further casting is yet to be announced.

Goodnight Mister Tom will run at the Duke of York's Theatre from 11 December 2015 to 20 February 2016.
