It has been announced that Shakespeare's Globe will live-stream a production from the theatre for the first time.

On 11 September, A Midsummer Night's Dream will be available to view on the Shakespeares Lives website and through BBC iPlayer.

The performance will mark the end of the plays residency at the theatre, after it opened in May this year. WhatsOnStage gave the production 4 stars and said it tells the story in a "brilliant, crazy, hearty way" and that the music-infused play is "ridiculous fun".

The production is also Emma Rice's first since becoming artistic director of the Globe, and she said she was "thrilled" that the play will be filmed in this way.

A Midsummer Night's Dream runs at Shakespeare's Globe until 11 September.
