Tanya Moodie will star in the courtroom drama at the Lyric Hammersmith

Tanya Moodie will play the Presiding Judge, while Emma Fielding plays Prosecuting Counsel. John Lightbody will play Christian Lauterbach, Forbes Masson plays Defence Counsel Biegler, Shanaya Rafaat plays Franziska Meiser and Ashley Zhangazha plays the pilot on trial, Lars Koch.
The show involves the audience entering a courtroom where they hear the evidence and make their own judgement about a hijacked plane, shot down by a fighter pilot. The plane was heading for a football stadium and ignoring orders, the fighter pilot shoots the plane killing 164 people but saving 70,000. He is charged with murder.
The show opens at the Lyric Hammersmith on 14 June and runs until 15 July, making its UK premiere in a translation by David Tushingham. The nature of the piece means that the outcome differs widely according to where it is played in the world.
