Nikolai Foster directs the Curve’s Christmas production
Full casting has been announced for Nikolai Foster's Christmas production of Grease at the Curve Theatre, Leicester.
Dex Lee (In the Heights) will play Danny Zuko and Jessica Paul (Titanic) will play Sandy, two high schoolers in '50s America who fall for each other.
The Pink Ladies will be played by Djalenga Scott (Chicago), Sophie Isaacs (Kinky Boots), Natalie Woods (Legally Blonde)and Keisha Atwell (Memphis).
Danny's Burger Palace Boys will be Jonny Fines (The Sound of Music), Sam Murphy (Funny Girl) Max Jorquera and Nathanael Landskroner.
The cast is completed by Shobna Gulati (Mamma Mia!), Patrick Harper (Kiss Me Kate), Sinead Kenny (Annie), Martin McCarthy (Legally Blonde), Sophie Camble (Legally Blonde), Justin Thomas (West Side Story), Darren Bennett (The Importance of Being Earnest), Michael Lin, Abigayle Honeywill, Courtney George and Luke George.
The musical features karaoke favourites such as "Summer Nights", "Greased Lightnin’" and "You’re the One That I Want". The 1978 film version topped Channel 4's list of the greatest musicals ever.
Foster directs the production with choreography by Nick Winston and design by Colin Richmond and lighting from Guy Hoare. The orchestrator will be Sarah Travis and Neil Mac Donald will be the musical director.
In a joint statement, Foster and Curve chief executive Chris Stafford said: "We couldn't be more thrilled with our super-cool, Grease cast and production team."
Grease opens at the Curve Theatre, Leicester on 1 December, with previews beginning 26
November.
