The Lyric Hammersmith’s production premieres in September
Full casting has been announced for Tipping the Velvet, which opens at the Lyric Hammersmith next month.
The production is adapted from the bestselling book by Sarah Waters by playwright Laura Wade, best known for Posh.
Joining the previously announced Sally Messham and Laura Rogers will be Kirsty Besterman (Private Lives, Arcadia), David Cardy (Made in Dagenham, Ghost Stories), Amanda Hadingue (The Ghost Train, Playing for Time), Adelle Leonce (Light Shining in Buckinghamshire), Andy Rush (Jumpers for Goalposts), Jared Ashe (Brief Encounter, The Low Road), Sarah Vezmar (Alice In Wonderland, The Secret Garden) and Ru Hamilton.
They will be supported by a young ensemble including Tamara Camacho, Grace Frogley, Georgie Lord and Aasiya Shah.
Tipping the Velvet is directed by Lyndsey Turner, who worked with Wade on Posh and is currently directing Benedict Cumberbatch in Hamlet.
The production will be designed by Lizzie Clachan, with choreography by Alistair David and music by Michael Bruce.
Tipping the Velvet runs at the Lyric Hammersmith from 28 September to 24 October, after which it will transfer to the Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh from 28 October to 14 November.
