The gala on 30 November celebrates 20 years of RAM’s Musical Theatre Company
The line up has been confirmed for Curtain Up!, a one-off concert making the 20th anniversary of the Royal Academy of Music Musical Theatre Company, which takes place 30 November at the Prince Edward Theatre.
The show will feature a total of 150 performers, including current students, alumni and guest performers such as Shona White (Mamma Mia!), Kate Graham (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Fra Fee (Les Miserables) and Stephen Ashfield (The Book of Mormon).
Accompanied by the Royal Academy of Music Concert Orchestra, the evening will feature songs from Les Miserables, Guys and Dolls, The Lion King, The Wiz, Merrily We Roll Along and many more, directed by Paul Warwick Griffin.
According to press material, "Founded in 1994 by Mary Hammond [a professor at the RAM] in close collaboration with Karen Rabinowitz… the musical theatre programme quickly became a leader in the field of musical theatre training, a position it has maintained for 20 years now.
"Curtain Up is a celebration of their achievements, the support given to them over the years by dedicated specialist teaching and administrative staff, friends, supporters, alumni, industry specialists, creatives and of course, the senior management at the Royal Academy of Music, who never ceased to believe that musical theatre should have a permanent home in Britain's leading conservatoire."
