Fiz Marcus has stepped down from the role of Doris Partington in the upcoming UK tour of My Mother Said I Never Should, which opens in September.

A statement by the production says that Marcus has withdrawn "due to unforeseen health issues".

Directed by Michael Cabot, the tour will now star Carole Dance (Humble Boy, Absolute Hell), who joins Felicity Houlbrooke, Kathryn Ritchie and Connie Walker from 11 September in Hexham.

Charlotte Keatley's play is set in Manchester and follows four generations of women as they encounter social change across the twentieth century.
