Producers have announced who will be joining Jenna Russell and Sheila Hancock in the European premiere of the musical
Full casting for the European premiere of Grey Gardens has been announced. Aaron Sidwell, Billy Boyle, Jeremy Legat, Ako Mitchell and Rachel Anne Rayham will join the previously announced leads Jenna Russell and Sheila Hancock.
Sidwell, who joins the cast from American Idiot will play Joe/Jerry, while Boyle who most recently played Grandpa Joe in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will play Major Bouvier/Norman Vincent Peale. Legat stars as Gould, Mitchell plays Brooks Sr and Jr while Rayham plays young Edie.
The musical is a stage adaptation of the cult documentary film by Albert and David Maysles. It focuses on mother and daughter Edie and Edie Bouvier Beale, who live in a crumbling mansion on Long Island overrun by cats.
The show will be directed by Thom Southerland, choreographed by Lee Proud and produced by Danielle Tarento. The team behind the show were responsible for recent hits Titanic and Grand Hotel.
Grey Gardens runs at Southwark Playhouse from 7 January to 6 February.
