The actress who played Hermione in the films saw the first part of the play last night
Emma Watson, best known for playing Hermione in the Harry Potter films, has given a thumbs up to the latest instalment of the franchise, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Writing on her Facebook page she said: "I came in with no idea what to expect and it was AMAZING." Adding that she thought some aspects of the play were "even more beautiful than the films."
Following the show Watson went backstage to meet Noma Dumezweni, the Olivier Award-winning actress playing Hermione in the stage production, and said that it "was like meeting my older self and have her tell me everything was going to be alright".
She is the first of the three leads from the film to attend the production, which officially opens at the Palace Theatre on 30 July. Daniel Radcliffe recently claimed he wasn't sure if he'd go to see the production as he was worried his presence would "take something away from the show".
