Elf musical comes to West End for Christmas run

The adaptation of the 2003 film starring Will Ferrell will open at the Dominion Theatre in October

Elf the musical will play a Christmas run at the Dominion Theatre from October 24 for a limited season.

The show, based on the 2003 Christmas classic film starring Will Ferrell, follows one of Santa's elves who discovers his identity as a human and goes to New York to find his father, all the while spreading Christmas cheer.

The production will run for ten weeks at the West End venue, with tickets going on sale on Monday 9 February.

The musical, which features songs by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin, originated on Broadway in 2010 and has had subsequent Christmas revivals and US tours.

A production of the show ran in Plymouth and Dublin last year, starring Ben Forster and Aoibhinn McGinnity.

Casting for Elf, which features direction and choreography by Morgan Young, is to be announced.
