Derren Brown transfers Infamous live show to Palace, 27 Jun

Television magician and mind control expert Derren Brown will transfer his latest live stage show Infamous to the West End this summer following its current nationwide tour. Infamous will have a limited season at the 1400-seat Palace Theatre from 27 June to 17 August 2013 (previews from 24 June). Tickets to Derren Brown’s Infamous go on sale today.
Infamous reunites Brown with his long-time collaborator and actor and writer Andy Nyman, who directs. It also returns him to the Palace, where his debut live show Derren Brown Live ran in 2004.

Derren Brown commented: “We abandoned the template that had won us a couple of Oliviers over the years for a very different feel. It’s important to us that the shows feel like something you can’t find anywhere else in theatre or entertainment: not even my own previous efforts. I’m really excited by the result. The show is a secret so I’m not giving away what’s in it, but it’s a psychological roller-coaster based around audience participation. And it’s got a real heart to it. The response on tour has been incredible, it’s all such a treat.”
Though best known for his TV work, Brown has often said that he enjoys performing on stage more than anything else. His other West End runs have included: Svengali at the Novello in 2012 and the Shaftesbury in 2011, Enigma at the Adelphi in 2010, Derren Brown Mind Reader: An Evening of Wonders at the Garrick in 2008 and Something Wicked This Way Comes at the Cambridge in 2006.
He has won Oliviers for Best Entertainment for Svengali and Something Wicked This Way Comes, and a Award for Best Solo Performance for Enigma.
Currently playing at the Palace, the Chichester Festival revival of screen-to-stage musical Singin’ in the Rain concludes on 8 June 2013 ahead of a regional tour. Adam Cooper and Jennifer Ellison star.
