Sinead Matthews and MyAnna Buring join up for Morgan Lloyd Malcolm’s new thriller
Sinéad Matthews returns to the Hampstead Theatre, following her appearance in Mike Leigh‘s Ecstasy, to play Heather, alongside MyAnna Buring as Carla in Morgan Lloyd Malcolm‘s new thriller, opening at the venue on 29 January.
The Wasp asks how far beyond the playground we carry our childhood experiences and to what lengths some people are willing to go to in order to come to terms with them.
Matthews theatre credits include The Master and Margarita (Barbican/Tour), The Changeling (Young Vic), A Time to Reap (Royal Court) and Blurred Lines (National Theatre). TV includes Inside No 9, The Smoke and Black Mirror.
Buring’s stage work includes Twelfth Night (Northcott Exeter) and Seduced (Finborough). TV includes Filth, Any Human Heart, George Gently and Wrong Door. She has also been seen on the big screen in films including The Twilight Saga part 1 & 2, Kill List and Lesbian Vampire Killers.
The production is directed by Tom Attenborough and designed by David Woodhead, with lighting design by Joshua Carr and sound design by Fergus O’Hare.
Morgan Lloyd Malcolm returns to Hampstead following the critically acclaimed Belongings which transferred from Downstairs to the West End in 2011. Other recent credits include You Once Said Yes (Edinburgh/The Roundhouse), Epidemic and Platform (both Old Vic).
