Howard Davies’ production of W. Somerset Maugham’s 1932 drama runs at the Minerva Theatre from 31 July
Casting has been announced for Howard Davies' production of For Services Rendered which runs at the Minerva Theatre, Chichester from 31 July.
This 1932 drama by W. Somerset Maugham depicts a world where both men and women are struggling to adjust to life in the aftermath of World War One. Former soldiers face debt, redundancy and depression, while the choices available to women are equally limited.
The cast includes David Annen (Ah! Wilderness), Anthony Calf (Private Lives, The Hard Problem), Sam Callis (Hay Fever), Simon Chandler (Red Velvet), Nick Fletcher (A Doll’s House, Treasure Island), Stella Gonet (Top Girls, Handbagged), Jo Herbert (3 Winters), Yolanda Kettle (Birdland), Justine Mitchell (Mr Burns), Matilda Ziegler (Machinal, An Inspector Calls).
Director Howard Davies’s numerous credits include award-winning productions of The White Guard, Mourning Becomes Electra and All My Sons (all for the National Theatre), The Iceman Cometh (Almeida Theatre and West End), and the original RSC production of Piaf (also West End and Broadway).
Design is by William Dudley, with Lighting by Mark Henderson and Sound by Mike Walker.
