”A Pacifist’s Guide to the War on Cancer” will open at HOME in September
Casting has been announced for the upcoming new musical by Bryony Kimmings and Brian Lobel.
A Pacifist's Guide to the War on Cancer features a cast including Naana Agyei-Ampadu, Amy Booth-Steel, Hal Fowler, Amanda Hadingue, Akiya Henry, Golda Rosheuvel, Rose Shalloo, Gareth Snook and Gary Wood.
The piece is a co-production with Complicite Associates and opens first in HOME in Manchester, before touring to Exeter Northcott at the end of September and arriving at the National Theatre from 14 October.
The piece is a musical examination of life with a cancer diagnosis, detailing five unconventional stories about cancer. Kimmings is known for her controversial work, which includes Sex Idiot, 7 Day Drunk and Fake It 'Til You Make It. This new piece came from a conversation Kimmings had with Complicite producer Judith Dimant, after Dimant was diagnosed with breast cancer.
A Pacifist's Guide to the War on Cancer runs at HOME from 20 – 24 September and then tours.
