Local stand-up comedian and actor explores love, life and art in a new one man show in March
Ben Kewin brings his new solo show to Manchester and London in March. Called Real Life, the show asks: "Being big and strong and powerful and relaxed is easy, but what about the less important things … like understanding, caring and crying?
Using all of the performance styles, "The Artist" presents a series of beautiful plays, films and readings that help the audience to understand the things that can sometimes be hard to understand unless you have seen a play about it.
The piece is being developed for one night only performances, in Manchester and London, as a showcase for a tour later in the year. It is produced by Benedict Power.
Both Bens are graduates of MMU School of Theatre and have lived in Manchester for nearly twenty years. Kewin has performed as a stand-up at many of the city's comedy venues and beyond, as well as writing and performing in comedy theatre, TV and sketch shows.
Power is an actor, director and producer, working extensively throughout the North West on new writing projects, including The Bubbler at Re:Play 2013 and Temp/Casual at Contact Theatre in 2011
Real Life is at Gorilla (Manchester) on 6 March and the Hens and Chickens (London) on 10 March.
