A West End transfer has been announced for Abigail’s Party.

Tamzin Outhwaite and Kevin Bishop will be leading the cast when the production arrives at the Harold Pinter Theatre later this year.

The production, presented by Theatre Royal Bath Productions, follows its run at Theatre Royal Stratford East and a previously announced UK tour. Written by Mike Leigh and directed by Nadia Fall, the production will play a limited West End season from 12 August to 19 September 2026.

Outhwaite takes on the role of Beverly, while Bishop will play Laurence. They are joined by Pandora Colin as Sue, Omar Malik as Tony and Lauren Patel as Angela.

Set in Essex in 1977, the play centres on Beverly and Laurence as they host drinks for their neighbours. Meanwhile, a teenage party next door provides the backdrop.

Abigail’s Party was developed by Leigh through improvisation with the original cast and premiered at Hampstead Theatre in 1977 before being adapted for the BBC’s Play for Today. The work has since become a regular feature of British theatre revivals.

The creative team includes set and costume designer Peter McKintosh, lighting designer Howard Harrison, sound designer Alexandra Faye Braithwaite, movement director James Cousin and casting director Amy Ball.

Tickets for the West End run go on sale at 12pm today, 26 May.
