Day seat and lottery ticket details have been revealed for Rebecca Frecknall’s A Streetcar Named Desire ahead of its West End transfer.

The production, which stars Paul Mescal, Patsy Ferran and Anjana Vasan, has been a hot ticket since it opened at the Almeida Theatre in north London late last year.

For those looking to try their luck, a limited number of £25 tickets are reserved for lottery winners at each performance. The lottery will be drawn every Wednesday for all performances in the following week. Winners will have 24 hours to pay for their tickets and can increase their chances by signing up to be automatically entered into the draw each week. To enter the lottery, sign up on the Streetcar website.

Alternatively, theatergoers can try their hand at winning day seats, which are located in the front rows of the stalls and cost just £10 each. These seats are sold in person from the box office at 4.30pm for evening shows or 11.30am for matinees. However, the opportunity to buy them is allocated via a game of chance that takes place in-person outside the Phoenix Theatre. There are only 10 day seats available in total, and five winners will have the chance to purchase a pair. To ensure safety and security, the ticket draw is limited to no more than 30 people.

The full cast for “Streetcar” includes Eduardo Ackerman (Pablo), Alexander Eliot (Steve),  Ferran (Blanche), Gabriela García (Mexican Woman), Cash Holland (Eunice), Mescal (Stanley), Tom Penn (Doctor/Drummer), Jabez Sykes (Young Collector), Vasan (Stella), Dwane Walcott (Mitch), and understudies Rob Dempsey, Francesca Knight, Zach Parkin, and Constanza Ruff.

Telling the tale of two estranged sisters who reunite in New Orleans, the piece has picked up glowing reviews during its initial sell-out run at the Almeida. It also received six Olivier Awards nominations including Best Play Revival and acting nods for its three leads.

The creative team features set designer Madeleine Girling, costume designer Merle Hensel, lighting designer Lee Curran, sound designer Peter Rice, composer Angus MacRae and casting director Julia Horan.

The show will play at the Phoenix Theatre, with dates from 20 March through to the newly extended date of 6 May 2023.
