My Top 5 Showtunes: Sasha Regan

Sasha Regan is the artistic director of The Union Theatre. Her theatre credits include Sweeney Todd, The Pajama Game and Annie Get Your Gun.
Her all-male HMS Pinafore is currently touring the UK and she has just announced the final Union Theatre production at its current venue – The Rise and Fall of Little Voice.
We caught up with Sasha and asked her: "If you were stranded on a desert island which five showtunes could you not live without?"
1. "Nocturnes" from Love Story
A song that Jenny sings for the the children that she will never have. It absolutely breaks my heart. Goodall is a beautiful British composer, I adore his work.
2. "Pretty Women" from Sweeney Todd
When the judge and Sweeney sing this song it makes me well up with tears. A production that holds dear and sweet memories for me.
3. "Good Morning" from Singin' in the Rain
We had a copy of Singin' in the Rain on VHS and I watched it over and over until the grain had gone. Still the most wonderful show to listen to or watch.
4. "Sit Down You’re Rocking the Boat" from Guys and Dolls
Many moons ago when I was in the Young Vic Youth Theatre we did Guys and Dolls in the main house and I can’t listen to it without all the wonderful memories flooding back. A time of innocence, youth and pure joy.
5. "One" from A Chorus Line
I defy anyone who has ever taken a dance class to sit still when listening to this song. It reminds me of my late dad, who once bid on a gold top hat from the show at a charity auction. My mum still has it and dusts it off every now and again and smiles.
