Comedy The Play That Goes Wrong has announced a West End extension to mark its fourth birthday.

The new booking period means the show will run until October 2019.

The Play That Goes Wrong won the Best New Comedy at the 2014 WhatsOnStage Awards and an Olivier and Tony Award. The piece originally opened at a London fringe venue and has now played to over two million people.

The West End cast currently includes Katie Bernstein, Jason Callender, Edward Judge, Alastair Kirton, Edward Howells, Meg Mortell, Graeme Rooney and Patrick Warner.

Mischief Theatre, the company behind the show, was founded originally in 2009 by graduates from LAMDA. The company's other pieces include Comedy About a Bank Robbery and Peter Pan Goes Wrong. The piece is co-written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields and is directed by Mark Bell.
