The Convert playwright Danai Gurira joined her Black Panther co-star Letitia Wright at the opening night of the play's revival at the Young Vic.

Directed by Ola Ince, the piece stars Wright as Jekesai / Ester, and also features Paapa Essiedu, Ivanno Jeremiah, Jude Akuwudike, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Rudolphe Mdlongwa and Pamela Nomvete.

In her four-star review of the show, Sarah Crompton said it was "a powerful, thought-provoking experience."

Danai Gurira's play is set in 1896 in what is today's Zimbabwe, where Jekesai is fleeing from a forced marriage and finds herself working for a devout Catholic priest.

Naomi Dawson designs the show with lighting from Bruno Poet, sound from Max Perryment, projections from Will Duke and movement from Coral Messam.
