Marianne Elliott's production of Company will extend its West End run until March 2019.

Sondheim's classic musical, reimagined to have a female lead called Bobbie as opposed to the male Bobby, is currently running at the Gielgud Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue. It stars Rosalie Craig, Patti LuPone and Mel Giedroyc.

In her five-star review of the show, critic Sarah Crompton said it was: "There is so much to admire and like in this richly inventive production that confirms Elliott as one of our best directors and Company as a great musical. No wonder Sondheim was happy."

The piece follows a 35-year old bachelor who is pressurised by her friends to get married. It first premiered in 1970, winning a number of Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Score.

The production is now booking until 30 March.
