Sold-out A Little Life to transfer to new West End venue for five-week run
The sold-out production of A Little Life with James Norton will transfer to a new West End venue following the completion of its initial run.
Ivo van Hove’s English-language production of Hanya Yanagihara’s critically acclaimed prize-winning novel is set to open next week at Richmond Theatre before a transfer to the Harold Pinter Theatre, where performances begin on 25 March (with an official opening on 5 April).
After the show completes its run at the Harold Pinter Theatre on 18 June, the show will transfer to the Savoy Theatre (where Pretty Wman will complete its run in June), beginning performances on 4 July 2023, with dates through to 5 August. Tickets for the Savoy run are on sale now in a special pre-sale – meaning you’ll have a chance to get them before everyone else.
Also set to appear in the show are Luke Thompson (Willem), Omari Douglas (JB), Zach Wyatt (Malcolm), Elliot Cowan (Brother Luke/Doctor Traylor/Caleb), Zubin Varla(Harold), Nathalie Armin (Ana), and Emilio Doorgasingh (Andy).
Lead producer Wessex Grove’s Benjamin Lowy and Emily Vaughan-Barratt said today: “We could not be more delighted to have the opportunity to extend A Little Life in the West End this summer. Hanya’s book has had a profound impact on so many people’s lives, and it’s a privilege to witness the way in which the production is being embraced by audiences.
“We’ve just finished rehearsals, and it’s been extraordinary to watch Ivo and this incredible group of actors discover this story anew on stage. It’s a beautiful piece of theatre, and we’re delighted our company want to continue performing the play together at the iconic theatre that is the Savoy – a real honour for a straight play to perform on that stage.”
The novel, which follows four college friends and their lives as they experience adulthood, is adapted by Koen Tachelet, van Hove and Yanagihara. The English-language production has set, lighting and video design by van Hove’s long-time collaborator Jan Versweyveld, costume design by An D’Huys, music and sound design by Eric Sleichim, casting by Julia Horan and hair, make-up and prosthetics by Susanna Peretz.
