Priscilla Queen of the Desert to run in Brighton over Christmas 2019

The newly revamped version will run at Theatre Royal Brighton as part of a UK tour

The new touring version of Priscilla Queen of the Desert is to run at Theatre Royal Brighton over Christmas 2019, it has been annoounced.

Producers Mark Goucher and Jason Donovan's brand new staging of the piece will open in Brighton on 17 December 2019 and run until 4 January 2020.

The show tours the UK from September 2019, with dates now confirmed for Dartford (5 to 14 September), Bradford (17 to 21 September), Rhyl (23 to 28 September), Milton Keynes (30 September to 5 October) Wimbledon (14 to 19 October), Malvern (14 to 19 October) with further dates at Blackpool, Leicester Curve, Edinburgh Playhouse, Liverpool Empire, Inverness Eden Court and Manchester Palace Theatre.

Priscilla is based on the Oscar-winning film about three friends who board a bus bound for Alice Springs to put on a show of a lifetime. Songs featured in the piece include "It's Raining Men", "I Will Survive" and "I Love the Nightlife".

Tickets are now on sale for the Brighton run

The production is directed by Paul Kerryson with choreography by Tom Jackson-Greaves, designs by Phil R Daniels and Charles Cusick Smith, lighting design by Ben Cracknell and sound design by Ben Harrison.

Casting is yet to be announced.
