Full cast announced for An American in Paris

The musical transfers from Broadway in March 2017

Full casting has been announced for Christopher Wheeldon‘s An American in Paris, which opens at the Dominion Theatre in March 2017.

Joining the previously announced Robert Fairchild (as Jerry Mulligan) and Leanne Cope (as Lise Dassin) – who both originated the roles on Broadway – will be Haydn Oakley (Sunset Boulevard, The Book of Mormon) as Henri Baurel, Zoë Rainey (The Winter's Tale, Wicked) as Milo Davenport, David Seadon-Young (Ghost) as Adam Hochberg, and Jane Asher (Alfie, Blithe Spirit) as Madame Baurel. Ashley Day will be the alternate Jerry Mulligan.

With music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin, and a new book by Craig Lucas, the Tony Award-winning musical will receive its West End premiere at the Dominion Theatre from 21 March 2017, with previews from 4 March.

The company is completed by Julian Forsyth, Ashley Andrews, Sophie Apollonia, Zoe Arshamian, Sarah Bakker, James Barton, Alicia Beck, Chrissy Brooke, James Butcher, Jonathan Caguioa, Jennifer Davison, Katie Deacon, Rebecca Fennelly, Sebastian Goffin, Alyn Hawke, Nicky Henshall, Genevieve Heron, Amy Hollins, Frankie Jenna, Justin-Lee Jones, Robin Kent, Kristen McGarrity, Julia J. Nagle, Daniela Norman, Aaron Smyth, Todd Talbot, Max Westwell, Jack Wilcox, Carrie Willis, Stuart Winter and Liam Wrate.

Based on the Academy Award-winning film starring Gene Kelly, the musical includes the hit songs "I Got Rhythm", "'S Wonderful" and "They Can't Take That Away From Me".

The musical is set in Paris and tells the story of Jerry Mulligan, an American GI trying to make it as a painter in post-war Paris.

An American in Paris will open at the Dominion Theatre on 21 March 2017.
