The new adaptation of the hit novel is coming to the stage
Zadie Smith's novel is adapted for the stage by Stephen Sharkey into a play with songs. It follows the myriad lives lived on the Kilburn High Road, following characters including Rosie Jones, the Iqbal twins, their parents, their grandparents and Mad Mary.
White Teeth has design by Tom Piper, composition by Paul Englishby, movement by Polly Bennett, lighting by Oliver Fenwick, sound by Carolyn Downing, musical direction by Chris Traves, video by Lizzie Pocock, casting by Briony Barnett, fight direction by Kev McCurdy and dialect coaching by Daniele Lydon.
Smith's book was a bestseller when it was released in 2000. The stage version has a cast made up of Michele Austin, Ayesha Dharker, Nenda Neurer, Assad Zaman, Matthew Churcher, Zoe West, Naomi Frederick, Tony Jayawardena, Sid Sagar, Ayesha Antoine, Karl Queensborough, Amanda Wilkin, Richard Lumsden and Phillip Bird.
