Cats has partnered with Zara on a 20-piece capsule collection inspired by the musical, available worldwide now.
The collection includes apparel, accessories and footwear, with designs featuring faux fur, feline prints, distressed knitwear, sculptural tailoring and studded appliqué details. It also includes T-shirts featuring the Cats logo and printed denim.
The collection is available through Zara’s website, with dedicated placements planned at flagship stores on Bond Street in London, SoHo in New York and Gran Vía in Madrid.
The campaign uses bold rainbow colours and contemporary styling to reference the theatrical aesthetic of Cats, whose costumes have been a feature of productions of the musical over several decades.
Written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, with lyrics by TS Eliot, Cats premiered in London in 1981. The musical features songs including “Memory” and follows a group of Jellicle cats gathering for the Jellicle Ball. It continues to tour across the UK after a summer run at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.
The Zara collaboration is available now online.
