Ballo Arthur Pita will revive The Little Match Girl for a Christmas season at Wilton’s Music Hall, running from 3 December 2026 to 2 January 2027.

Directed and choreographed by Arthur Pita, the production is based on the classic story by Hans Christian Andersen and combines dance, song and live music by Frank Moon.

Set on a snow-covered Christmas Eve in an imagined Italian town, it was originally commissioned by DanceEast. The Little Match Girl premiered in 2013 and has subsequently returned for several festive seasons at Sadler’s Wells and the Lilian Baylis Studio, as well as touring nationally and internationally. In 2025, the production received the Hans Christian Andersen Award in Odense.

Pita said he was “absolutely thrilled” to bring the production to Wilton’s Music Hall, describing the venue as an “extraordinary” space.

The creative team includes Moon as composer and Yann Seabra as set and costume designer. Casting is to be announced.

The Little Match Girl is produced by Ballo Arthur Pita and was originally commissioned by DanceEast with support from Arts Council England.
