A creative team of stars!

The stage musical adaptation of La La Land has added choreographer Mandy Moore, costume designer Mary Zophres and production design studio 59 Studio to its creative team.
Moore and Zophres worked on the original 2016 film, which was written and directed by Damien Chazelle. Moore choreographed the film’s dance sequences, while Zophres designed its costumes.
59 Studio, which won a Tony Award for its work on Stranger Things: The First Shadow, will serve as production designer, with Edward Pierce as design collaborator. The studio’s other theatre credits include The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, The Last Ship, An American in Paris and War Horse.
The appointments were announced by producers Lionsgate and Marc Platt. They join previously announced director Bartlett Sher, book writers Ayad Akhtar and Matthew Decker, composer Justin Hurwitz, and lyricists Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
Based on the film, La La Land follows an aspiring actress and a jazz musician pursuing their ambitions in Los Angeles. The film won six Academy Awards, including Best Director, Best Actress for Emma Stone, Best Original Score and Best Original Song.
The stage adaptation is produced by Platt and Lionsgate Global Products and Experiences. Further details, including casting, performance dates and venue information, will be announced in the coming months.
