We take a look in the dressing room of ”Jumpy” actress Sara Stewart
Sara Stewart is currently starring as Hilary in Jumpy at Theatr Clwyd. Her previous theatre credits include Dinner with Friends (Park Theatre), Hay Fever (Duke of York's) and The Snow Queen (Rose Theatre Kingston).
We caught up with her to find out which five items she couldn't live without.
My dressing room is opposite my dear friend Kerry Peers', who plays my friend in Jumpy. We met at drama school in 1985, and it's the first time we've shared a stage in 30 years. It's a real treat! She pops in regularly for a hug and to get me to check her makeup. Phil Wright plays my husband, and visits at the five [minute call] to run our opening scene. Love these guys!
Last summer, company manager Adrian Hall made each of the cast of Hay Fever a clock with a picture of our set as the face for opening night. Sadly, he passed away just before the end of our run. This clock has come to represent how precious time is. As it ticks it says, don't waste a second.
Lisa Spirling, our wonderful director, had these mugs made for us. We were asked to line up along the back wall of our rehearsal room and pose as our coolest sexiest selves (part of our choreography), and the photographer captured it. We look like we're in a 90s band, I love it!
My battered script and notes… I pore over it before each show. My character Hilary is never off stage, that's a lot of talking!
I still have an iPhone 4, I prefer the size. I play scrabble on it to relax. I'm a bit of a scrabble nerd.
Jumpy runs at Theatr Clwyd 2 April.
