Carol Rosy Furtado is currently starring in The Merchants of Bollywood. As a dancer, her previous credits include Stomp (India and internationally) and a US, Canada, West Indies and London tour with Asha Bhosle and Adnan Sami.

We caught up with Carol to find out what items she couldn't live without.

The Glitter

CRF: "The secret to a shiny personality" – as you can imagine, there is a lot of glitter in The Merchants of Bollywood.

The Hair

CRF: "The Indian Anaconda" – a hair piece from the show.

The Hairdresser

CRF: "Hairy tales from hair and there" (my hairdresser, who travels with me everywhere)

The Bells

CRF: Alarm bells so everyone knows when I am coming – these are the bells that I wear around my ankles during a number called 'The Tandav'.

The Shoes

CRF: As a female, I’m very good at telling my left from right, and unlike men I can read a map.

The Jewellery

CRF: "Weapons of mass destruction" – there are 1,200 different costumes and 5,000 pieces of jewellery in the show, so audiences can expect a lot of costume changes!

The Merchants of Bollywood runs at the Peacock Theatre until 11 June.
