Dare to Be Stupid: The Weird Al Musical, featuring the songs of the legendary “Weird Al” Yankovic, is in the works.

The musical will have an original story by Scott Brown and Anthony King, the writers of Gutenberg the Musical and Beetlejuice, with direction by Alex Timbers.

The accordion-playing, long-haired musical parodist is behind songs like “Amish Paradise,” “Eat It,” “White & Nerdy,” “Like a Surgeon,” “Gump,” “My Bologna,” and tons of others. He is a five-time Grammy winner for his music.

Further details will be announced at a later date – we expect it will have its world premiere in North America before any prospective UK runs.
